Annie is originally from Sunrise, Florida, a suburb outside of Fort Lauderdale. She moved to the Asheville area in the summer of 2022. She received her BA in History with a minor in Education from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2010. After college, Annie became a flight attendant but soon realized she wanted to be in the classroom working with students. She served as a Mentor with AmeriCorps through the San Diego Unified School District which solidified her love of teaching and working with students. For the last seven years she has taught middle school Social Studies in Broward County, Florida. She also coached soccer, track, and flag football and served as the Athletic Director at her previous school.
Annie loves to be active and you can find her hiking on the various trails Western North Carolina has to offer in her spare time. Her goal is to visit every National Park in America. When she is not hiking or exploring, Annie likes to read, bake, watch college football, and attend concerts and music festivals.
